For this project we had to interview a war veteran. We asked him questions about his life before, during, and after the war. We also had to record his responses to our question.
The interview backed up what I thought the truth of war was. I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one who feels the same way about the war. It was also pretty interesting just hearing about what he did fist hand and not reading about someones first hand experiences.
I would have to say that that the most interesting thing I learned about from him was just how he lived his live before the war. He was just a normal kid. I think that I've always thought of someone who's been in the war has never really had a life before the war it was always they just had nothing and went off to war.
You could use this interview as a way to write a story about our veteran's life and all his experiences or you could use it to make his life into a movie.
I feel that both preparation and group work was most valuable because we all needed to work together to make sure that everything was taken care and we need peep reaction to make sure that everything that we did was as perfect as it could be.
Thesis: If a US boat wasn't attached by 3 Vietnam torpedo boats, then how come there was 1 US boat and 3 Vietnam torpedo boats destroyed.
on August 3, 1964 the United States was blowing up some bridges and roads so the Vietnamese didn't like it so the fired upon us trying to stop us and we immediately responded by firing five inch artillery shells at them and having our planes fly over. "what happened up there and they came out, gave us a warning, and we knocked hell out of 'em." (Doc. 3). This is from an interview of someone at the battle that thinks it was our fault we got attacked. I know this from looking at the unwritten words in the document. I think that if we were doing something like blowing up roads and bridges then we brought it on ourselves to be attacked, but the Vietnamese started to attack someone that had way more weapon power than they did. If the Vietnamese didn't want us to do what we were doing then they shouldn't have fired at the United States because that is a sign of war just as it is a sign of war to do what we were doing.
Did we in fact actually get attacked by 3 Vietnam torpedo boats? " whereas naval units of the communist regime in Vietnam, in violation of the principles of the charter of the united nations and of international law, have deliberately and repeatedly attached United States naval vessels lawfully present in international waters, and have thereby created a serious threat to international peace…" (Doc.1). In this quote you think that the vietnamese are attaching us when we aren't doing anything but were only getting half of the story. The Vietnamese might have a completely different take on in. When I read this I think of the Vietnamese repeatedly attaching the United States and we are forced to go to war to protect our country. I get the idea of why I think this way from reading about it on a different paper (background knowledge). I feel that we were attached by the Vietnamese and we had no other choice but to defend our selves and go to war.
On August 5, 1964 the United States was attacked by 3 Vietnam torpedo boats. "And the essential fact was that our vessels were being attacked on the high seas by these boats and we had to do something about it…" (Doc. 2). This was from an interview of someone who was there during the battle and had first hand experience about what was going on and he said that. We were being attacked and we had to react to it by returning fire. I feel that if we are being shot at then we have the right to fire back in defense. From reading this part of the document I got that the United States did nothing wrong. I get that we were attacked for no reason and the only way for us to survive or to keep our men safe is to fire back. I also feel that if we didn't lost a boat or a plane and the Vietnamese only lost one boat then there wouldn't be a debate on weather or not this battle actually happened.

Geometry
One topic that I really liked this semester is the actual construction of all the shapes in our comp. book. I really enjoyed actually having the time in class to daw a perfect circle and then with the same tool being able to day a line through it and then being able to bisect that line with a perpendicular bisector.
A problem of the week that I liked the most was when we had to draw all the triangles on a paper but we couldn't use the same triangle more than once. We also couldn't use a triangle that was rotated a little from a previous triangle. I really liked this problem of the week because I couldn't figure out how to do it, but as the week went on I started to realize that the answer was really easy.
My reaction to this quote is that I don't think math is beautiful because I feel it is more you need to know it and if you don't then your screwed for later on in your life, but I love math. The reason I love math is because I like how no matter what your opinion on the subject or question the answer is always going to be the same.
